Read Psalm 83
Psalm 83 seems to me to be about Israel being plotted against by many, seemingly almost every other nation that has anything to do with them.
In verse 1 the phrase “Do not keep silent, O God!” is not about God so much saying something for the sake of communication, rather to take action.
1 O God, do not keep silence;
do not hold your peace or be still, O God!
In verse 5 these people or nations form a “covenant” (aka ‘confederacy’ or something akin to an alliance) against Israel.
For they conspire with one accord;
against you they make a covenant
The psalmist goes on to list other offences of the people aligned against Israel and prays that God will judge them in ways that He has done in the past (v. 9-12), and other things (v. 13-17), so that (v. 18): “…they may know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.”
